Trees grow and produce wood using solar energy, water, carbon dioxide and nutrients. The wood is the basis for sawn timber, pulp and paper. These products can be recycled and brought back to nature's own cycle.
Products based on sustainable forestry therefore fit well into the ecosystem.
BARK IS USED AS FUEL FOR OUR FACILITIES
Most of the bark from the timber is used as fuel in our own heating plant, which supply the facilities with heat to timber dryers and premises.
RENEWABLE DISTRICT HEATING TO THE MUNICIPALITY
The facility in Åkers Styckebruk produces district heating of the residual products and delivers to Strängnäs municipality´s district heating network.
SHORT TRANSPORT DISTANCES
Our facilities are located in Mälardalen which results in short transport-distances and great environmental savings.
WE ARE CERTIFIED
By being certified according to FSC and PEFC, environmental considerations are documented, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the wood as environmentally friendly material, from sustainable and nature-adapted forestry.
PELLETS AND BRIQUETTES ARE PRODUCED FROM OUR SAWDUST
The sawdust that falls out during our production becomes wood pellets and the residues from our plaining-plant becomes wooden briquettes which are sold as fuel to larger heating plants.
